About Warren
I was born and raised in the small town of Lenox, Georgia, population 860, in the mid-1940s following World War II. Those were magical times for me, when everybody knew everyone else and everything about you, good and bad. If I misbehaved at school, my dad would be waiting for me to “remind” me of the proper behavior at school. I loved to hang out with my dad because he was such a great dad, and everyone loved to have a conversation with him. School was very basic, but we mastered the three Rs.
Family Background and Education
My dad was a banker, and my mom was a first grade teacher. I was the youngest of three siblings, and we were a very loving family. I attended the local schools until 11th grade, when my parents decided to send me to an elite prep school in Rome, Ga. After high school, I graduated from Valdosta State University at the top of my business administration class, with intentions of attending law school and moving to the big city of Atlanta.
A Life-Changing Experience in Vietnam
My hopes for law school were interrupted by the Vietnam War. I volunteered for service and spent one year in Vietnam with the First Infantry Division, where I was awarded two Bronze Star Medals. That experience changed the entire trajectory of my life, probably for the better. I learned lessons there I would never have known otherwise.
Taking Over the Family Business
After Vietnam, I intended to finally enter law school when my plans were interrupted again by the death of my father at the age of 61. Like it or not, I was compelled to take over the family banking business, which I led for the next 41 years.

Discovering a Passion for Writing
Upon retirement in 2011, my wife encouraged me to jot down a few memories of my military service for the benefit of our children and grandchildren. I was reluctant at first, but once I began, I simply could not stop. One thing led to another, and today I have authored six books and two screenplays. I have developed a passion for storytelling, which most people find to be very original and entertaining.
Marketing My Own Books
Finally, I decided to market my own books through the establishment of my own website for that purpose.
